Programme for more efficient forest use

The Mistra Digital Forest programme engages the industry and several research practitioners. The aim is more digitised and efficient forestry that, in the long run, will help to make Sweden carbon-neutral. One way of achieving this is by linking forest data.

‘If we could make better use of the knowledge available, we’d know already, when we’re out and about in the woods, the exact best way to fell each tree and how to use it,’ said Torgny Persson of the Swedish Forest Industries Federation, who is heading the programme with a budget of SEK 83 million over four years.
